Everything you need to know before sending a photo
Quick, plain-English answers about the free service, queue priority, privacy, files, timing and completed downloads.
Getting started
Is the photo editing genuinely free?
Yes. The standard request route is free and there is no subscription. An optional one-off priority fee may be available, but that only changes queue position; the edit itself remains free.
Does every request get accepted?
No. Requests are reviewed for image quality, complexity, clarity, available time and appropriate use. You will see the decision on your private status page.
Is this an automatic online editor?
No. This is a manually operated service. A person reviews the request, carries out accepted work and updates the private customer page.
Who runs the service and is it suitable for urgent edits?
Photo Edit Free is run by one person who works full time and edits photographs in his spare time. Free requests are normally handled in the order received. Optional priority only changes queue position and still does not guarantee a completion time. If your edit is urgent or tied to a deadline, please use another service.
How does customer chat work?
Use the floating chat box to send a private question. When the administrator is available, the box shows a green indicator. When they are away, you can still leave a message and receive a reply through your private chat link.
Do I need to verify my email every time I make a request?
No. A new email address is verified for its first request. After a successful request, Photo Edit Free keeps only that verified email address in a separate returning-customer record, so using the same address again lets you skip verification and continue directly to the upload step. If you choose Delete my request/data, the saved email record is removed and the address must be verified again next time.
Waiting times
What does the pending edit count mean?
It counts active requests that are waiting, under review, being edited, awaiting a revision or at preview stage. Completed, declined and closed requests are not included.
What does the priority payment buy?
It places an active paid-priority request ahead of free requests. Paid-priority requests are handled in the order their payments are confirmed. It does not guarantee acceptance, a completion date or a particular outcome.
Can I add priority later?
Yes, while the request is still active and Stripe priority payments are available. Open the private status page and use the priority option.
What if I cancel Stripe Checkout?
Your photo-editing request remains safely stored in the free queue. You can continue without paying or retry from the private status page.
What to upload
Which image formats are accepted?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and TIFF files are accepted. Upload the original camera or scanner file whenever possible rather than a screenshot or social-media copy.
Can I upload more than one photograph?
Only one photograph can be submitted in each request. If you have another image, start a separate request for it. The existing anti-abuse limit still allows a single IP address to submit up to 8 images across separate requests in any rolling 48-hour period.
Should I upload confidential documents?
No. Do not upload passports, bank cards, medical records, legal evidence or other sensitive documents.
International requests and connection checks
Can I submit a request from any country?
Yes. Photo Edit Free accepts requests worldwide. Your detected country is recorded as security information only and is not used to reject a request.
Why is my IP address checked?
The connecting IP address is checked for VPN, proxy and Tor indicators to reduce abuse of the free service. The detected country and network details help the administrator understand the result.
What happens if a VPN, proxy or Tor connection is detected?
A request may be automatically declined under the configured network-security rules. The private status page explains the reason and lets you reply if you believe the result is incorrect.
Can the check be wrong?
Yes. Mobile networks, business connections and privacy services can sometimes be classified incorrectly. An administrator can rerun or override the result after reviewing it.
What happens if the checking service is unavailable?
The request is not automatically declined. It is held for a manual security review instead.
Optional public sharing
Will my photographs automatically appear in the gallery?
No. A gallery item is created only after a completed customer checks the separate optional gallery-permission box while leaving a review. Leaving a review alone does not give permission to publish images.
Can I leave a review without sharing images?
Yes. Written review permission and gallery permission are separate. Leave the gallery box unticked and only the review will be considered for publication.
How are faces and sensitive details blurred?
Separate gallery copies are stored locally on this website. The administrator uses a built-in browser editor to draw blur areas over faces, registrations or other identifying details. Some browsers may offer local face detection, but manual inspection is always required.
What happens if a face or sensitive detail is missed?
The item must not be published. The administrator must add another blur area, upload a safer copy or keep the gallery item hidden. Publication requires a separate confirmation that both images have been checked.
Can I withdraw gallery permission?
Yes. Deleting the private request removes the private customer data and request files. A separately consented gallery item and its local copies remain independent so the published example is not broken. You can ask the administrator to remove the gallery item or written review separately.
Does the gallery link back to my review?
Yes. A published review can link to the connected gallery comparison, and the gallery item links back to the review. Your email address, private reference and private status link are never shown.
Your information
Are my details or photographs sold?
No. They are not sold, rented or shared with advertisers or data brokers. Limited technical providers process data only where needed to host the site, deliver email, check VPN, proxy and Tor indicators or process an optional Stripe payment. Gallery copies are prepared and privacy-edited locally on this website.
How do I delete my request?
Open your private status page and choose “Delete my request”. The confirmation page lists what will be removed and asks for the matching reference and email address. The separate saved verified-email record used to recognise you as a returning customer is removed as well, so the address will need to be verified again if you return. A review you chose to publish remains separate and can be removed later by contacting the service.
What remains after a paid request is deleted?
The private request, photographs, messages and customer details are removed. Minimal payment transaction references may remain in financial records or Stripe where needed for accounting, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations.
Does the website record visitor statistics?
Public page visits may be recorded in the website’s own database, including the page or requested URL, time, referrer, IP address according to the selected privacy mode, host-supplied country, browser and device category. Genuine visitor activity is reported separately from recognised crawlers and common security probes so automated requests do not inflate normal traffic figures. Private customer, download, chat, media and administration pages are excluded. Logs are currently kept for 30 days.
Completed work
Can every damaged photo be fully restored?
No. Results depend on the source image. Missing detail, heavy blur, severe compression or large damaged areas cannot always be reconstructed accurately.
How do I approve an edit or ask for changes?
Each request contains one photograph. When the edited preview is ready, choose Accept this edit or request additional changes and provide a reason. The request is completed after you accept the edit.
Can I ask for more than one revision?
Reasonable corrections to the original brief can be considered. A completely different edit or new set of instructions may need a new request.
How long do completed files remain available?
Completed files remain available for 14 days after completion. Download and back them up promptly. After cleanup, separately consented Gallery copies can remain, but the private request and its files are removed.
